Does google and yahoo work the same way?

    my site was fully indexed by google a couple of weeks back. However sometimes my page numbers drop from 100 to 11 for whatever reason and it always happens at the same time on yahoo as well.
    Do they use the same alogrithm or yahoo now has a sandbox?

    Not at all. They are two different companies that have to stand out over the others. Why would they have a similar algorithm [not to say they aren't always/sometimes trying to perfect issues.]

    The only thing they have in common is that they index sites and allow users to search.

    The algorithms are different.
