Hi all, I am planning to register a domain name on GoDaddy.com. It is approximately costing me around RS 500. However, I am a bit confused over web hosting. Some sites like NameCheap.com offers web hosting and SSL Certificates along with domain registration and doesn't charge anything extra. In other words they offer web hosting and SSL certficates service free with domain registration. Does GoDaddy too offer the same service like the NameCheap? I want web hosting and SSL certificates get covered under domain registration fee. Any suggestion?
No idea if they offer it for free or not, but whatever the case, you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT want to host your website with your domain registrar. Godaddy in particular has a terrible reputation as a host, and chances are you won't be happy with the service. Great domain registrar, terrible host. Same goes for Namecheap and all the other domain registrars.
I have also heard that domain registrars are not good at hosting. Moreover, it is always better to register your domain elsewhere than where you buy your hosting, as if you would like to move to an other web host in the future, you will just change the nameservers of your domain. You can try HostGator or BlueHost.
Hi Andrej, Thanks for sharing some nice information. It's pretty clear that having domain registrar and hosting provider different, give some counting benefits. I am grateful to you on hosting provider suggestion given by you. Thanks!
I have checked the site of HostFator. in. It looks good. They offer three plan: Reseller Hosting, VPS Hosting, Dedicated Servers. Which plan should be best fitted? Also do they all require monthly payment?
i am using this host from nov and i think this host and domain register is far batter then godaddy.. check it once... https://t.co/S0XrqhPD
If you're just hosting one website (your own), you shouldn't need either of those 3. You just want normal shared hosting: http://www.hostgator.in/shared.shtml You can pay monthly, every 6 months, yearly, or 2 or 3 years. You never, ever want to pay a host for 2 or 3 years, because if you decide to leave, good luck getting your money back.
