Really? I spoke with a lady there just a few minutes ago, she didn't seem to know much, but all she said was that they didn't allow incomming connections. I don't know if that covers a proxy or not? any thoughts?
They don't allow them officially, but I got away with running 6 for 3 months with no problem, so you can probably get away with it.
I want to know the true allow proxy or not ? if don't allow with shared hosting i will not buy hosting from them
Some Third world countries use proxys for illegal means, so no, i imagine they dont allow it. Whether they actually enforce this rule until they have to...well thats another question.
Well i have had 15 or so proxy sites on go daddy's shared hosting for the last month, i am only paying for the hosting per month, so just incase they do kick me or anything, i am waiting for it, but upto now everything has been fine 'touch wood' Will.
No because of the CPU they use they don't like them and + you have all the crap running though their servers and they don't want to be liable if some terrorist is buying industrial fertilizer with your proxy.
No they do not allow it. You could probably get away with it for a little while. But just like money doesn't grow on trees, neither does success. If you want to make any money long term with proxies you can't shortcut the proccess. There are many great hosts here on DP that you won't have to worry each day about getting kicked off. If you get kicked off and your sites are down for a day, you will lose 90% of the traffic that you had, forever! So if your in it to make money its not worth the potential money you could lose. Assuming you want to make money with your sites...?.. MAtt
