it doesn't go like this my friend god is exist whether u believe in him or not may Allah guide us all to the straight path.
Yeah, PHPGator, I know they are theories and I do know the definition. I understand what you are saying and they kinda coincide with the basic theme of most threads like these. It depends on what you need and what you believe.
I don't believe in the organized religion concept of God as "man in the sky" but I do believe in some sort of force which may be called "God" - I think whatever it is, it's probably well beyond our complete understanding. I also believe that whatever it is, we are all a part of it. It's not something that is outside of our existence, it is existence itself.
I'm not trying to compare you belief to fiction but do you mean something like "the force" in Star Wars? Where it is in everything and everything is of it?
No... not like that. What I mean is something that is indescribable. I think western religions tend to be very... Well a lot like the Greek mythology of the past. It tries to humanize things that I think are beyond that sort of thought. In other words I think they create God in man's image (sort of of the reverse of what the Bible says.. yes) God is like a person to them, someone who is jealous and all of this other stuff that doesn't make any sense to me. To me, whatever God is, it's nothing as soap opera as that. I believe that everything and everyone is God and visa versa. I cannot explain what that means because I do not understand it. I'm suspicious of anyone who thinks that they do understand it.
God does exist, look around. Who put us here? Big bang? Something from nothing? Only God could create something from nothing. What about the records of miracles taking place, healing the sick, giving sight to the blind. What about the bible? many point out a flaw here or there, but overall it has never been proven false. However, Every day its proven true. Quite a few of mans discoveries, were mentioned in the bible first. Of course God exist, the question is which is the true God. I have that answer to, but it requires faith.
The Bible can't be proven false or true. No other records exist of a Jesus Christ or Jesus of Nazareth except that. Which is why I become suspicious. Why wouldn't the Romans have written about him? They wrote about everything... Why is he called Jesus of Nazareth anyway? It says in The Bible that he is born in Bethlehem.
Firstly, extra-biblical records of Jesus exist. Even the top thinking atheists admit that. What they attack is the question "is he God?" Here's a link you can find through google, and I'll summarise it below for ease of reference. These are some non religious historians that compiled eye-witness accounts: Josephus (A.D. 37 - c. A.D. 100) Tacitus (c. A.D. 55 - c. A.D. 117) Suetonius (c. A.D. 69 - c. A.D. 140) Julius Africanus (c. 160 - c. 240) Origen (c. 185 - c. 254) Pliny the Younger (c. 62 - c. 113) Here's Josephus (A.D. 37 - c. A.D. 100) on Jesus: For more details, see these links. Compare that to Caesar, there are literally only 10 documents referencing, the oldest is written about 1000 after his death. Jesus of Nazareth/Bethlehem So here's how it works: There was Christmas (Jesus was born) Then they moved to Egypt to escape Herod who was killing the little boys After a while they came back and moved to Nazareth (where his parents were from). - He grew up in Nazareth. I'm not trying to convert you (although I won't lie, it would be nice), just clearing up a few misconceptions. I hope it helped
