What are you talking about? Your posts are completely incoherent, to say the least. God can't be God once we all know he exists? What is that, some type of riddle?
seriously, wtf are you talking about? did i say that someone bad mouths their god? no, i think i tried to say the other way.
Freewill has never been settled on, through the history of the Christian Church. Through Augustine, Luther, Erasmus, Calvin and numerous others, it has been a Gordian Knot of theology which has never been completely untangled, and many problems lie therein, as well. Absent Freewill, and in a theology of predestination, God as you know him consigns innocent beings to hell, though their own volition, heart, soul and acts all cry of grace and righteousness. How about Judas? Screwed from the start as the betrayer of Christ. Why was this being selected for damnation, irrespective of his original nature? Presuming freewill, how can you explain the story of Job, then - a man, who by his life, loved god and lived righteously, yet was cast into misery over a spiritual card game with Satan, as a mere toy?
I like the "no opinion" option in the poll btw. A lot of people are undecided. It's interesting to see that quite a few just don't want to say one or the other. I actually believe that the number is a lot higher generally. Just people tend to follow something and decide "yes, I believe" or "no, I don't believe" for various reasons when in reality they are unsure.
What is to be unsure about if you weren't raised amongst religious people and never had it drilled in to you as a child? For those people, un-touched by those with religious beliefs and not dogged by mental illness, God simply doesn't exist and the notion is quite silly. Animals don't sit and ponder the existance of any 'God', nor did humans until the idea was introduced by humans. Honestly. Pete
He-Man ruled, but not as much as that sword of his, or that square wheeled jeep-thing they rode about in with that rhinosarous lookin' bloke! Pete
He-Man is awesome... I hear they're making a transformers movie too - That'll be cool... Nothing like a childhood throwback movie. I found this site that has funny open letters to various people, and one of them was an Open Letter to Skeletor. randomrant.co.uk/content/view/14/2/ (Damn, what's the fucking deal with these links - it's a pain in the arse.) Funny stuff...
it's crazy idea that we came from nobody... we just evolve into by just mere coincidence? if we do evolve and came from monkeys like scientist think of then why did this monkeys still exist? when one specie evolves most likely the old form will soon be gone... it's logically possible that there was a creator and a powerful one... if not we can't possibly live in this wonderful planet... probably we're the improved creatures in this world and there is a mission for each and every one of us... God is not meant for only Christians... God is preceive as a powerful being that not even us can understand who He really is and why He put us here... freewill is something we already have... even we have laws some people break it because it's free... maybe he's a toy for Satan but he still have the freewill to believe in Him or not...
It's silly and unbelievably illogical thoughts like these amongst the masses that provide the base for religion to grow like the filth it is. Nah, God is the world and everything in it but labelling it 'God' is a bit daft. why not just say we can't understand everything in the world and why we're here alive and breathing as human beings, without attaching any religious connotation to it? Then we may begin to investigate the actual 'facts' instead of what people just think or believe. To believe in him or not? You speak like he exists at all. Please. Don't be so arrogant in your quaint little child-like thoughts and beliefs. Pete
I'm not sure to be honest - I'm just passing on the good news (Ha) I bet they make it with CG stuff... Lame - Get pen and paper out again. Much cooler.
haha, you've said it yourself, dude. Animals don't - isn't that a good thing that we have our own mind and are able to do more than just lay around, scratch our asses and hunt for a meal when hungry? Seriously, man: Neanderthals prolly prayed to the sun and the thunderstorms or something. Animals are controlled by their immediate needs. We are able to question and contemplate. Btw I don't think that belief or disbelief in God has anything to do with intelligence, there are so many intelligent and dumb people who do both, believe and choose not to believe.
Again: Of his own free will, a man, Job, CHOSE righteousness: One day, Angels (fallen, presumably) and Satan come strolling by, bored out of their minds. They ask God, "what's up." God, bored as well, says he has a righteous guy who loves him above all else. Satan says, yeah? Prove it. God says, about this beloved man, who, by his own free will, chose righteousness, "OK. Do what you will with Job. Just don't kill him": Then, the rest of the story. God permits Satan to murder Job's family, afflict him with torture and disease, and wipe him out. All in the name of besting Satan at a challenge. So, the god of free will will allow the murder and torture of innocents, over a mere challenge by his former son, Lucifer, "The Shining One?"
And don't you think that is rather stupid, much-like doing 'rain dances' for their to be rain? Rain will rain no matter what you do. You cannot control events in this world like that. It simply doesn't happen, yet millions of people pray everyday for alsorts of reasons thinking God will answer their prays. It won't happen. It can't happen. It doesn't happen. Just because you danced and it rained the next day it doesn't mean your dance had anything to do with it. I believe you will find most people not brought up around religion and who are of a sound mind do not look toward religion for any answers. Incredibly intelligent people brought up around religion find it hard to move away from it as it effects many in such a strong and personal way - thus is its influence and power, and the conviction of the believers in here that their particular God exists simply because they believe it to be so. I feel for people who have to battle with religion because it's instilled in them so much, but yet in a world of sense they end up questioning their God and wondering if it's a load of hogwash. That must be terrible to be in religions clasp that much that it's so real to you that it's hard to see sense. Pete
When i started this thread i didn't knew there already was this kinda thread. Anyways, i originally wanted to share that argument of Einstein, which i recently read.
Looking at the bottom of this page, there are more threads out there It's all good, people like to figure out where they're going after they die. Especially now that there is a religion section here, it's all good.
