That's like saying I have a relationship with a magical purple elephant that I pray to everynight and whom who created me and the universe. Proof this magical purple elephant doesn't exist. Hell - I'll even start a cult and get others believing in it and developing a relationship with it from a young age and they will actually believe to the extent they will ask people with common sense to prove it doesn't exist. Accept god exists for YOU because he's been created in YOUR mind. Only an extremely arrogant simple minded tart would ever consider that god actually exists in REALITY outside of their own head. I wash my hands of you. Pete
GADOOD, I agree, but give them something else to believe in. They need to know who created the earth or the universe or the creator of the universe creator which is logical impossiple. Time can't be unlimited, it must been started somewhere, it's a dimension aswell as everything else. Probably it will end soon because a few dimensions is still left at the big bang stadium and will swallow everything when they starts to develop. Our existence is limited and it doesn't mean anything. Therefore it's possible that the pink elephant exists.
I dont really agree with that, i voted athiest on the poll but i am guessing the people who voted yes are not all christian. They could be any of the organised religions arround the world. They may not even follow a religion but just believe in the existence of god.
The poll does not suggest whether you follow any religion or not. This is just for a public opinion of people in general who think whether god exists or not ? And so far majority of people think that god exists.
Hmm.. I will try to switch subject here.. Why do people believe in G-d? And like GADOOD said, why not believe in the pink elephant instead?
In my personal opinion god was created by some smart ancient people to fear others and make money from them.
One reason: some of us have made experiences in life that cannot be explained by logic. It can happen that in certain moments of need you pray, and at that moment something unexpected happens which provides the solution to a very significant problem you currently have. Happened to me and some people I know. I do however understand that unless you yourself can relate, it's foolish to stuff your belief down anyone's throat. I'm just saying: some of my experiences have been so strong, when you have them ... you can't just forget them and say "Let me re-analyze this logically". Our existance defies logic. If you think there is not God, prove it
Mayby it was the globalists, the ones that also created right and left within politics(according to tesla).
well i think thats the problem, you cant prove god, or a pink elephant in the sky, but unfortunatly you cant 100% prove evolution or how the earth was created, it is all theories. In my mind the big band and evolution are far more logical than the concept of a god creating the universe. But until someone has 100% evidence of one or the other this debate can/will continue foreever
fine... im not pointing out anyone... if you hate my how faithful i am then i can't stop you... dude, this is a thread where you share your thoughts and opinions... to let you know... i haven't gone to church for a longtime so i can consider myself worthy of being called holy or something... if you got hurt about what i said then im sorry... this how i want my life to be and that is how you want your life to be.... we are not here to fight or i didn't came here to argue with anyone of you...
Every one has his/her own god. Everyone knows that he/she is coming from something. It may be clouds, it may be birds, it may be GOD, it may be monkeys or an explosion doesn't matter but the thing we call god is the name given to the creator of all things. So If you do exist, that means there is a god. But we can never know what our god is like.
If you have experiences in life that cannot be explained by logic, simply don't bother. If you see something in the sky and you don't know what it is, but it's moving extremely fast or simply hovering with no sound - there is no need to assume it's an alien in a spaceship. It's merely an object in the sky you can't pin down. That is all. I have met psychics, tarrot card readers, people who believe they can talk to the dead, deeply religious people and they all share the same trait - they believe in forces or powers that simply aren't there, but they are able in their suggestable minds to attach almost any event, quirky or just everyday stuff to their specific 'out of this world' belief system. To be honest - it boarders on mental illness, especially when people claim God spoke to them, or dead people talk to them etc. Mediums, pshycics, religious people - they all have a strong belief but it's mental if they truly believe the stuff to the extent a lot do. Some people just take their gut feelings for pshychic abilities. Some people fool themselves that just because they're thinking of a David speaking to them trying to contact Phillip in their imagination, that it's actual real. It's not. I can do it right now and if I wanted utterly fool myself that a dead person is talking to me, or god or any other silly thing I choose to believe in. As it stands I prefer to ground myself in reality as that's the only thing that can guarantee your mental sanity and what is true and can be proven to be true. Here's an example for you Blogmaster: If your mother is hit by a car and is in a coma in the hostipal, you would pray for her. If she recovered, you would believe your prayer was answered and god saved her etc, would you not? You would thank god. If she died however, you wouldn't attach this to god in the same way, would you? If you truly believe you can remotely control events in this world by praying to god, or as some believe, summoning demons, then I'm afraid you are deluded my friend and to deny this only proves this fact as you will not listen to sense or reason. If my mother was hit by a car and was in a coma, I would hope she would be ok and pulled through. But if after hoping, the next day she does actually pull through, it's not because I hoped, is it? How could I possibly attach me hoping miles away to her recovery in anyway what so ever? A doctor could tell me why she recovered, though. He certainly wouldn't say 'Oh it's because you hoped'. Why do you think it's any difference because you pray? It's not, but you are arrogant enough or suggestible enough to believe you can control events and the outcomes by getting on your knees or putting your hands together - come on, for crying out loud, you are an adult. You cannot go praying aimlessly thinking that what you are doing is somehow unfluencing the world, people and the outcome of events. That is insane. Pete
even great scientist who believes that there is a God... i don't think everything that we see or touch or feel or hear or whatever limits us to believe that there is a Creator... there are lot of ways on how to explain or express your thoughts so i don't think someone should bad mouth the God who people believes... i dont believe in psychic powers, magic, or other people claiming that they saw Him. nowadays, its really hard to prove which is true and which is not... this is the reason why talking about religion is a very sensitive topic... to others their God is like an important person for them so i dont think we should bad mouth other people's God...
Pete, your points are very good. But when you say "Don't try to explain the unexplained", you're still leaving the door open to further interpretation. It is human nature to not be satisfied being told "don't worry about it" or "just forget what you saw". When my daughter was 4 and I've ignored a question, she would ask me again and again and again until I told her either "I don't know" or answered, or made some shit up if I didn't have an answer. Sure the 3rd part was bad. And that's a part of human nature as well, making shit up. And it works when people want to explain the unexplained, that some can come in with a less than truthful response and for the lack of anything better, it gets taken as the truth by some. 2:1 is the current vote in this poll. Are we all insane?
the bible and the quoran(and other crappy religious books) were created by pimps and kings to rule over people. People were really ignorant back in the days, now that we have technology and FREEDOM OF SPEECH, some morons still believe in religions. Obviously if i see a nun or a priest getting hit by a car im not calling 911, because it was a decision from "GOD", who is living in "HEAVEN", and i do call 911, im going to "HELL". lol...2006 and still retards everywhere... SAD..
