Does Getting Traffic From Articles Affect SEO for a website

    As I am doing SEO for my website, Suppose www.nnnn.com And i am still trying to rank on keywords. But what i am doing to get traffic is through some news article website. And the daily traffic is 2000 To 3000. So What i am trying to know is if I am doing SEO for my website and getting traffic from a single news article website does that affect my SEO for keywords that I am targeting my website.
