does Geolocation matter for ranking in search engines.....?

    Hi all

    I have one small problems one of my client site hosted on usa based server domain is regested to usa server,

    Now if he checks his keywords from usa location in yahoo engine he lost on sixth or seventh page of the engine.......

    The same keywords if i checked from india it produces good result on yahoo at 1 and 3 position.....

    Till date the keywords r doing well in both USA and india location to yahoo engine.

    Can any body tell me whats probs this time.....

    Not sure about how yahoo handles this but google shows different results depending on your location. Rankings can also vary across the datacenters so you won't always see the same results.

    To get good rankings in the US you need to build links in the US as well as being hosted there.
