Hang on a minute, that article by Matt Cutts doesn't mention interlinking on the same IP address. It dispels the myth that sites with dedicated IP addresses are favored over sites on shared IP addresses. Nowhere does it say links going from one IP address to the same IP address are not frowned upon! I have read lots of accounts of people losing SERPs and not just PR because google discovered that they're linking to their own sites. Here's one example: Another one is from a guy who wrote a while ago that he listed his company sites in the same Google Analytic account and lost his SERPs! So google does penalize interlinking your own sites! And why wouldn't they? You're voting for your self, how can that count?
Gazu: I couldn't agree more with you But people seems to miss replies so they will still not understand. But I guess that's their fault
I don't there is any harm in interlinking sites, as I have never heard that it has negative drawbacks. mvandemar's posts are beautiful and I would heed his advice.
ar.............. who can tell the correct story? Should I remove the links or not????????????? In the middle of a cross-road...........
Do you think it looks like you're trying to manipulate your ranking? Do you think Google might think that you are? If you answer yes to either of these then don't do it. If you're feel confident that google won't penalize you then go ahead and interlink. Just inform us if you do get penalized. Good luck
I haven't read the whole thread but I'd just like to say if the sites are quality Google will not penalize you for interlinking. Seochat, devshed, devarticles and a couple others are linked to on every page of each.
No I wouldn't. Not on the scale that the OP is suggesting. Though, if it was only two or three related sites I might have considered it before, but not after mobilebay's post ealier in this thread. He only mentions interlinking three sites on the same IP address!
Yes, its adversely affected me on all the sites that I linked, so in a word No i won't ever try it again
