what do you think? analytics is getting a lot of information about your site/s. i guess the adsense team can also take a look on this data because its part of the google empire.

so maybe more information means prevent getting banned?

Not necessarily. Google needs to have adsense integrated into analytics for it to truly become useful. If we could directly view who is clicking and when and on what page directly through analytics, it would become a powerful addition. Some of us are doing that now, but through homegrown or downloaded addons. Since these are not Google addons, there are always going to be discrepancies between what we see and what Google sees.

In short, I'm not sure how just using analytics (out of the box) is going to be of much help to prevent a banning.

Not really. Analytics and AdSense code bits you insert into your page function as counters in a very much the same manner.

Meaning that for AdSense team there is no reason to look into your Analytics profile.

They have the same data plus all the data related to clicks that Analytics does not show to us, mortals.

Lets start a poll for those who got banned.

I also have the same feeling.

I think Analytics collects more detailed information about your page than AdSense. So maybe when they think you've cheated they can take an additional look at your Analytics data and come to a better decisions than just banning people just because there is maybe something wrong (high ctr,...) with your account.

Do you guys really think that AdSense collects as detailed information as Analytics?

 I don't see much logic here. Analytics is a free-for-all statistics plugin and AdSense is a real-money-related system and flagship product for Google second only to AdWords.

AdSense collects way more information that Analytics does as it has to do with real advertisers' money.

So, the answer is still *no*, having Analytics is not going to do any good for preventing you from being banned. AdSense has the same info on every one of your visitors and then some :)

    I would say it doesnt.

And if google could start using your information in part of Google Adsense then I'd start getting concerned about privacy issues. Especially as they could then do it with all your other online activity.

It didnt help me any - of course my site was penalized not banned (due to a server crash and a misconfigured failover server - it has since been un-penalized)

Google is very compartmentalized, the ad people and search people, and anlyitics people are all in separate offices and have no influence over eachother - unless your buddies with Sergy or something :)

I don't think it would prevent you from getting banned. But I wouldn't be suprised if they looked into that if you had it up when they were checking your account.

yes, i'm pretty sure google already has more information through the adsense program than they would ever let you see through google analytics. for them it's irrelevant whether or not you have analytics enabled. for example, they know which IPs clicked on which ads, etc, things that analytics doesn't currently tell you...however, if for some reason they question you, then it helps if you have the analytics data (along with some other sources) to argue your defense.
