If my products are in froogle, would it help with my placement on the google search?

Yes to both questions, it its free to submit to froogle via google base, having items in froogle can help in google results due to the fact google shows froogle products were relevant at the top of some page results.

Yes, but to maintain exposure at the Google search level i.e at the main Google site, not Froogle, you have to submit your listings every three days.

I don't recommend submitting more often as each time you submit, each URL is re-validated before being published.

You don't submit to Froogle anymore, you submit to Google Base: http://www.google.com/base

Best part about Google Base is that you can submit almost any type of content: products, services, real estate listings, recipes, reviews, games, auto sales, poems, really just about anything.

is froogle data added automagicly by "normal" goolgle indexing, or is it primarily a submit type service?

Froogle is a google shopping program where you can add your products and people can search specifically within the froogle part of google.

When you add your products to froogle, they will sometimes appear about the standard organic links as products - this will obviously give you a significant advantage, however, I have seen no evidence to suggest that froogle boosts your organic serps (naturally) by using their service.

Froogle is good because it is free but it won't help organic search & traffic is very very slow.

Hello! Google and Froogle are part of the same company, so they both share most of the huge database. Froogle affects Google and viceversa, hence.

it's not allowed to upload a product with the one price - and then the product will have a different price in the site. i have seen it happening few times (well its actually cheating).
Its a great tool, use it wisely.

The have a blog and some time post valuable info there:
