Does facebook help in marketing the affiliate programs, I have a facebook account and have got lot of friends who are promoting various kinds of program, I want to know how good the response is ?? Has anybody benefitted with it.
Not quite sure about this, but I doubt. People aren't visiting Facebook to go and buy. That's not in their mind. Yes, there are lots of traffic at Facebook. Sure. But you should bear in mind what the quality is of your traffic you get there: Be aware that they are just going there actually to socialze and are not necessarily looking to buy anything - in fact perhaps they would feel offended if someone approaches them with some affiliate program there? Anyway, I would personally think that you would succeed better elsewhere.
You can buy Facebook ads which are VERY targeted. So, even if by nature people do not go on Facebook to buy something, you can hit them with your ad which is 100% in line with their profile. Keep that in mind.
By exposing people to your message in a friendly, non-intrusive way you can even get them to like your product and wanting to know more about it. Tempt them, appeal to their natural curiosity, get something for free, gossip, something new and hot and then closely follow up on your actions.
Hey, I have never used facebook to explicitly "make money." I have, however, successfully used facebook as a tool for driving traffic (which could translate to money). First, let's revert to basics, so that readers who are less familiar with facebook will understand. Facebook users can easily upload photoalbums, videos and other content. Not only is the content accessible on your profile to anyone you are "friends" with or share a network with, it shows up on the rooster/newsfeed when users sign on. The thing is that people upload SO MUCH stuff onto facebook... that most people don't even take a second look at a person's stuff. The key is to share ridiculously 'sticky' content, so it becomes viral. You want friends to share it with friends who share it with more friends and so forth... (A great example of this is the Obama girl video -- one of the best viral marketing campaigns out there!) I would suggest this method over creating an application because it takes advantage of the whole "Networking" theme of facebook. The problem with creating applications is that many users are sick of applications, so they don't even look at the invitations. Additionally, users can only send application invitations to limited friends, whereas they can share videos and other content with as many as they would like. I think if you can successfully get people interested in what you have to offer through marketing, you will succeed at directing traffic to your products and services. Hope I was of some help....
We have a client that recently created a fan page under their website name to promote their product [ladies high fashion shoes]. It has only been open 6 weeks and they now have over 1200 fans. We do not know of course how much that has increased sales - but it has certainly got a lot of positive vibes out there for them.
Facebook is perfect for marketing. You can get targeted audience by following a particular niche based community in facebook.
We are using facebook to advertise our own store, and overall it has been very successful so far. We've done both highly targeted campaigns to drive sales, and just general brand awareness campaigns. Both have worked well.
Facebook itself has variety of ways to help you promote your product or services! Through facebook you can reach to a vast number of users within few seconds. All you need to do is plan a prfect marketing campaign and use it accordingly. Facebook produced a huge number of visitors on my blogs.

I think its just started. Facebook and promoting products is really just at its infancy. I've used it to redirect traffic and to sign-up affiliates but to specifically use it to make money, no, not yet.
Yeah, Facebook is good for marketing things in general. Some may say that it is intrusive, however, those little ads in the corner I feel are not at all. Facebook attracts a lot of traffic, why not take advantage of it? Best regards
