For me the traffic has been neligible. I don't know the reason and heard from a lot of people that facebook traffic is pretty waste.
It can definitely bring traffic, but IMO the best results will only be if you have lots of friends and lots of high population groups...
apparently the links won't get picked up by google because the spiders can't access the profile pages etc
The question should be rephrased as does Facebook bring useful traffic??. We all know the importance of Social networking sites and the back links they generate.. It is also viral. But the traffic these websites generate are useless when you compare the conversion rates.. I mean it. They dont buy your products or click on your ads as they are here for fun
As said previously, owning a group is probably the best way other than ads. It also depends on what kind of traffic you're looking for and who you are networked with. If you're not networked with people who are specifically interested in what you're marketing, the traffic will most likely not convert (obviously). That being said, if you have the money, the facebook ads are great to use as you target specific demographics.
I had the very same ideaa of creating a group on facebook, i might just give this a go now reading this.
Yes Facebook is a great way to send traffic to your website. Targeted traffic is great for any business and if your ad is appealing to others then it could be a great way to find repeatable customers.
facebook is the best traffic source for me. I use status updates for each an every new blog posts, Use Facebook groups, Pages and Applications to bring traffic. If you can pay facebook advertising, that's the optimized way to get targeted traffic.
