Take a look at my site. I don't know what to make of it. I don't know if its because of the encryption. Granted I do not have any "real" content, but they have been displaying relevent ads for the last 3 months up until know. Here is the site: bapeonline.com
Um, how exactly do you expect the google bots to know what sort of ads to serve your site when all they see is the encrypted code. I would say you are lucky to get anything other than public service ads!
Curious as to why you would need to encrypt the source code of a webpage? I see you also disabled right click but you can still go to view and choose view source. That aside, I would say google can not see any of the content of your page so it doesn't know what type of ads to display. Also will not help your page to get indexed by the search engines as their is nothing on the page for the search engine to spider. May want to rethink as to whether your page really needs to be encrypted because I would think it puts you at a disadvantage. Just my opinions though
really, encrypting source code is useless. There is nothing special about your design and it can be easily duplicated if one wanted to. the right click "ban" is irritating and makes a visitor feel alienated if he tries and do a right click function, as if he is doing something wrong. your index page is cached dec. 20 When did you encrypt the code? HTML is a free open source code and you really don't have the right to copyright it. You can copyright your design and content, and if someone has the gall to copy you, then you have legal recourse. They will be the one suffering duplicate content penalties, and copyright violations. Why not just leave it the way it was when it was working? Did you have a problem with someone copying your site?
I think it's surprising that you have paid ads in the first place. I too don't really see the use of encrypting the source of your website... Are you afraid someone will copy your html? Doesn't it give you a lot of problems getting listed in SE's?
ya definitely the encoding doesnt help your cause. I would suggest only encoding what is important and leave the rest as visable html/code. Nothing on your page is unique and can't be found elsewhere. Another thing I would suggest is possibly to add a paragraph blurb about bape. Otherwise your site seems interesting and hopefully you would get more ebay sign ups than adsense clicks, right? Ebay sign ups are worth more than the adsense clicks. I might even suggest removing the adsense to help convert more people to ebay users. What is it $10 a sign up / bid?
The previous version of the site had alot of news blurps on BAPE and plenty of articles to garner the use of Adsense. I was using text ads in the middle of the articles and it converted and looked good. The reason I changed the format is not relevant. In regards to my site lay-out, its simple and it works for me. The focus is on eBay not Adsense, I added it for a little extra revenue. The reason for encrypting is because there is infact a imposter site out there that was created about 2 months after mine. I did not realize that encrypting it would have such a negative affect. I will be putting things back the way they where. Thanks for all the help.
I have seen that before where an imposter site copies your entire site. Never had it happen and wouldn't wish it on anyone. I see why you tried the encryption now but would have to suggest contacting the hosting company or the webmaster of that site regarding the problem. I think there are other steps you can take in that situation that won't have such and adverse effect on your site. Hope everything works out!
Of course you could just keep it encrypted but put in a header with "meta KEYWORDS" with stuff about BAPE. Works in one of my sites - where the content is out of sight of AdSense.
Better get rid of that google cache'd page it shows your unencrypted site source code. Keep in mind that G/M/Y bots don't do javascript well. Odds are you'll never be indexed.
Source Encryption is a little silly anyway, social rather than technological methods are probably the best way of having content stolen. It's pretty easy to have a browser like firefox navigate to an encrypted site, process the javascript etc. and render the content, then dump the rendered HTML result. And bear in mind that the content stealers aren't stupid, just very unethical.
I am at a totally lost as to what to do know. I uploaded the unencrypted copies of the exact pages that I had and they still are showing ads that have nothing to do with my site. Even with the lack of content on my site I still recieved the "right" type of ads before I encrypted. Even when I upload pages that I previouly had as a part of the site that have never been encrypted they still show the "wrong" ads. They show ads for MySQL,XTML, etc. What gives?
Sometimes the Adsense bot won't come back for several weeks to analyze the page. Just build, optimize and be patient Good luck!
