Does Embedded Links Affect my Website?

    If I upload a Wordpress theme and it comes with 1 or 2 links which are embedded at the footer, will this have any effects on my website/blog? The links aren't relevant. For example the links direct to Wordpress.org or or Studiopress if I have the Genesis theme.

    I'm just wondering what are the cons, and if there are any pros. Also how do I remove these links.

    No you're good to go my friend.
    Nothing to worry about.

    I wouldn't remove them, because usually it's for copyright reasons

    May be the question is " Will it affect the blog's SEO ? ". In that case we can choose a free theme or a paid one without footer link.

    I had a free theme with a sponsored link at bottom. Like you mentioned, it was quite irrelevant. I soon found another theme which has no sponsored link. In my understanding, such links could make a bad impression.
