Email marketing still works as long as the subscribers rememebers they signed up to your list, even if they have, all it takes is a few complaints for you to get in trouble with your ISP and host

If you interact with your list on a regular basis with interesting, entertaining or problem solving information through different mediums e.g videos, webinars, articles e.t.c then it is possible to build a highly responsive list that not only sing your praises but actually Buy Your Products or your affiliate products
In this way It is possible to build a list of 'Fans' that buy your products, promote those same products and hang on your every word

I have tried rented list and it did not work for me. But that said, it works for many people. I get sales email from many large and reputable company that apparently has partnership with some companies i have signed up for. If it did not work they would not be doing it. So for me, there is learning involved. I think if you do it right and do it for the right product it still works.

Yes, it does. I run an e-commerce site. After each sale I send out a newsletter opt-in form. I have over 5,000 subscribers, and I get 98% open rates on average. My repeat business is through the rough, I have one lady who orders almost every single week now.

It is still very effective but it's always best to build up your own list and keep a good relationship with your subscribers. Don't just send them affiliate links and try to sell something to them all the time.

You got to be careful with email because nowadays there are just so many spammy emails so people may delete them without even opening them. Make sure its targeted and different.

KlausKesselGO, yes I think that your are right. Just think what you are doing with your email in box when it
gets stuffed with unwanted email. The only time email marketing can work (and this is over time) is when you
have your own list of on going customers that know, and trust you, with the quality of your prooducts and survices
otherwise I do think it becommes a compleat wast of time.

    1. Ask any successful online marketer if they have an email list (BUILD YOUR LIST).

    2. I like Aweber - reliable, powerful, affordable.
