Rules Does DP permanently ban members?

Does DP permanently ban members?

I noticed that an old member is banned; His last post was back in December.

Banned members normally return when the infraction points lapsed and fall below 10 points but do some infractions carry longer penalties?

Yes, if you got more than one account DP will BAN you permanently. Longer penalties happens when you bump the thread or you have more than one account or if you have poster against rules which are strichly not allowed..

 

As I have heard DP no longer gives permanent bans to members. Each duplicate account gets you 6 months. Thats was not the case before.

 

So if an old member received a permanent ban he or she could rejoin and have the ban reduced to six months?

I'm not sure, some old members like anthonycea and mella have been given custom made permanent bans which I guess have nothing to do with any infractions.
Though if anyone was given a permanent ban via a duplicate account infraction, it should have reduced to 6 months by itself.

Again I'm not sure.

 

DP account can BAN permanently i know a person who had +8k posts in 2008 and he is banned permanently. Before posting read the forum rules specially in buy sell trade section.

 

That would explain it; I didn’t know about the custom ban.
