    active members probably means the members who have verified there email id! other forums are namepros, v7n, sitepoint and seochat, but then non are as good as dp!
    actually they are not all that big, at a time here at dp, there are 400-500 members, but then on other forums there are hardly 50-200 members!:)

    yeah, silly to say ONLY 20K members. That is pretty nice. Places like Guru.com claim they have tons of users, however only a fraction are actively involved with the site.

    I think the active means they posted atleast once, the others are just registered names that never posted..20k active members is a huge amount, more then I've ever seen..

    DP has way over that, but I will tell you the largest community I have ever seen is at 3dbuzz.com I dislike them very much so no real link for them placed here!

    Not everyone posts. A lot of people just come here to read whats going on and to learn from what others post. I noticed an account for someone thats been here since 2001 and only made about 12 posts.

    not necessarily (unless you have insider info about DP)...vbulletin has a setting for this activity threshold...and at default its the members who have logged in in the last 30 days
