Does DP add to my PR?

    Hi,
If i have a link, say in my sig, would my site get a higher PR, as I have a few links from a PR8 site, or does google not account this?
    Thanks

Well it all depends on how high PR the threads your links are in. I doubt there are any threads here however that are >= PR8.

If you relay only on links in sig, it gives you nothing

I had a domain hit PR3 that was in my sig, although this was quite a while ago.

Of course it will get you SOMETHING. A link is a link and stays a link.

I agree with ninjashoes. It depends on how related your website is to DP.. a jokes website might not get as good results as a webmaster website would.

Any free link is good enough for me. Sites like DP is trusted so leaving a link is not going to hurt you.

Can you point me in the direction of a thread THAT IS pr8

probably doesnt exist. Inner pages typically will not have a TBPR that high.

So when google bot crawls this site it will check all the sigs and add pr for my sites in my sig? or how does that work?

thats a very complicated question that your probably not going to get a 100% accurate answer for.

bottom line is PR IS OVERRATED.

I was linking to my 1 of the site in DP sig only and nothing else.
And it got PR3 in next update. That means it helps I suppose.

link is a link...it'll definitely helps...will just depend on the quality of the site on where you link is posted...and IMO sig will also help your site get indexed quickly rather than submitting it through SEs...

That's exactly right. In the earlier days they just looked for normal links that they could follow. Now they have this brand new function called search_for_signature_links_and_give_them_special_treatment(), which automatically gives every website linked to from a forum signature a PR10. I wasn't supposed to tell you this though, so forget what I said.

Some forums block the spiders from seeing anything but the main page...not sure if DP does this or not.
