It has been my experience that the domain name does matter and your keyword should be in your domain name.
Ehm... probably Aneurysm is very competitive term, and your website is relative young, but I check it now and I see your website is 3rd on google for the keyword "Aneurysm support" the keys related to your domain, that's a great deal for me
Basically Domain name matters a lot in the optimization process of the website. If the domain name contain your website keywords will have a lot of weight-age for the main keywords ranking on main search engines specially Google, Yahoo and Bing.com............. Domain name is one of the crucial part of on-page optimization of the website.
Yea i agree with James points. Domain name is of great importance so be careful while purchasing a domain name of your site. Its better to use your main keyword in domain or your company name. It will help in search engine results.
Once you have done your keyword research and decided on your main keyword then that should be a part of your domain. If your keyword is in your domain (at the beginning if possible) then the search engines will be able to recognise immediately what your site is all about and this will improve your positioning. Finding and using an 'aged domain' can also improve your ranking chances even if a new site. Keep things simple and try to find an available domain that reflects the purpose of your site. Regards
Everyone of my sites that I have the key words in the domain rank much higher than the ones that dont. I would have to say from my experiance I think that having your key phrase in the domain name gives it total relivance to the search engines thus giving you more priority. Although if you have multipal sites with the key phrase now you have to compete with the total relivance of your site. Now you also have to consider what country your target market is in. choosing an extension like.com is great and will rank well anywhere but what if your target market is in the UK I belive that a .uk would rank better for those searching from the UK I may be wrong but my experance has shown it to be true. I would love to hear what others have to say.
Presence of the targeted key phrases in the domain name definitely makes a difference. It isn't one of the main factors, but it does make a difference. Especially if the domain is aged and has PR.
Unfortunatly yes it does matter far to much in my opinion, sites that have been around for 20+ years are now getting poor results in the search engines simpley due to new sites knowing it matters so much and making websites with domains that have keywords in. I literally just made a new thread asking for people opinions on this. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2034533
