If my domain name forwards to another website,
would that hurt my rank in search engines?. im not looking to get a higher rank, i just want traffic besides im not forwarding to the main page, its more like a deep linking thing

no it does not hurt the site you are linking to but it does not do anything for the domain that is forwarded

actually search results will show the detail of the domain you forwording so you will loose your ranking . it is better to use banner ads with some contents.

i m not sure but i have heard this

Are you asking whether it will hurt the domain that you're forwarding to, or the domain you're forwarding from? The domain you're forwarding from will obviously disappear from the search results - especially if you're doing it properly with a 301 redirect. The domain you're forwarding to will benefit because links to your old domain will pass some additional page rank onto the new domain.
