does directory submissions work?

I been submitting to directories that are no names and I was wonder how effective is submitting to directories that are PR0s.
Im pretty sure no one even visits these directories.

Can anyone tell me?

A link is a link and they all help to some degree...they certainly wont harm you. Also, keep in mind that a directory may be new or have no PR right now but that may change it time.

I routinely submit to directories and yes, they help.

 

If you are submitting to a directory to help improve your site's link popularity and they are adding the nofollow attribute to outgoing links, it is not going to help you. It is best to look before you leap. Mass submitting to directories adds little value these days to a search marketing campaign. Directory submission strategies have become more like mining for gold. Yes, there are some nuggets out there but you have to look hard for them.

 

Of course, directory submission works as a linkbuilding method. It's ok to submit your site even to PR0 directories, for they would eventually gain PR.

i guess I will keep submitting directories and others whether they are follow or not.

 

directory submissions work for sure. and PR0 directories are fine as they will not be PR0 for ever. however, it is wise to submit to a mixed PR directories for better result. lot of high PR directories will have high editorial standard and low PR or PR0 directories will not have such high standard so your acceptance rate will be higher

 

It does increase PR but I doubt about its sending traffic capability.

Submissions with right title and careful keyword description and in the right category will blow out your competitors.

 

Don't submit to directories hoping that people will find your link. Its more for backlinks and eventual pagerank contribution.

 

For me its not working fine .. I submitted to many dire only little approved and even that did not give any link juice......

 

If it's not working, why all the SEOs do that. the more backlinks the higher your site's PR and SERPs result.

Directory Submission can help to site's link popularity and increasing pagerank also. But, we submit a site atleast minimum pagerank directories. It will help to pagerank.

 

So far directory submissions are working. It's a gamble submitting to new directories with PR N/A but my experience has been good till now.
