Wow Matthew! You are simply awesome. Thanks a lot for this information. Was trying to register with the directory mentioned by you, but seems it will take its own time sending me the confirmation mail Yes, my keywords are "Stock Market Recommendation", "Intraday Trading", "Stock Market Tutorials" and my website is www.mystocklive.com. Will sincerely appreciate further feedback and guidance from you. Also I want to choose this as the best answer, but unable to find from where I should do it Kind Regards -Rutuja
Unfortunately, your keywords are very high in competition. You're going to need a lot more than directories in order to outrank the other pages on the first page. I would redo my keyword research again - the average time I spend on keyword research is 4 - 6 hours. This is for ONE keyword. If you don't put in the time during the beginning, it's going to cost a lot more in the future. If you don't have time/knowledge to effectively do keyword research, hire a proven SEO expert to do it for you - expect to pay between $100 - $350 per keyword. Sound like a lot? It should be! Why? because it's worth it...
These days directory is almost finished. We are not getting results with DS.If we do High Page Rank Submissions only 10/20 Links. This is effective.
I ran it through the Yoda translator. "High page rank submissions only 10/20 links, if we do. Effective, this is. "
yes it is helpful....but there is always "BUT" area. If you have submitted the link in directory like dmoz.org or in yahoo directory or parallel directory, that will definitely help to rank in SERP. "BUT" the link from spam directory will affect your site negatively So what is spam directory The Dir which allowed reciprocal Which allowed paid submission (condotional) Which having backlink from spam sites The Directory banned by Google and the most important things is, Dir which approved link automatically. (The Dir which is having manually editor have high weightage in Google like Dmoz)
You've just referenced two directories that are no longer updates or in use. At their high point both dmoz and yahoo were practicing the same paid back link scheme you've described.
Quality web directory should not be evaluated based on Google Pagerank anymore, in my opinion, PR is already history. People should pay more attention at the backlinks, design, content, serp and any other new stats such as Compete.
I am planning to remove the PR stats for my phpLD powered web directories. People just won't care about the PR anymore I believe.
Well I think directory submission still work if you need more and more back links, and back links always help your side to show search engine solid side.
