Does direct linking affect Quality Score?

Just wondering before I begin a test campaign, does direct linking mean a poor quality score? Or will it improve the QS if it is a good website (eg: amazon)?

I know landing pages are a much better option but I just want to test direct linking for now.

    Thanks,
    Brett

you can direct link all you want.

If you set things up wrong you will get a bad QS.

But the same rule follows if you owned your own domain

As Priolo said, "you can direct link all you want." Adwords can't tell the difference if you're direct linking or not. They just evaluate the quality of your campaign setup and ascribe a quality score in accordance.

If you think you can presell the person better with a good landing page, then use it. Sometimes the merchants pages don't do a very good job of that.

Oh, I always thought the QS was in regards to the quality of the page you are advertising, not the actual quality of the whole campaign setup.

    Thanks guys!
