I’d like to know if anybody here uses different C Class Ip hosting as part of their SEO strategy for interlinking their sites. Does it really make links more valuable in SE´s eyes? Or, is it a myth?
There is no SEO boost from hosting multiple web sites on multiple class C IPs. The reason that you would even consider doing this is if you are trying to avoid detection by the search engines if you are building a link farm of some sort. You can host a reasonable number of sites (by reasonable I mean 5-10... maybe 15-20... not 1000) on the same class C address and interlink them without any fear of penalty, especially if they are all relevant to one another. Beyond that, you begin taking on more and more risk that your interlinking of sites might be interpretted as an attempt to build a link farm. Simply hosting the sites on different class C IPs is not going to protect you from detection. You will want to take additional measures like spreading the web sites over multiple web hosts and making sure that none of the domain registrant inform is the same... different name, different addresses, different phone, different emails, etc.
It does help if you are getting backlinks from sites having different c-class ips instead of the bulk of links from sites on same c-class ip
I agree. I saw a very successful site with PR-7 having almost 2000 backlinks as per Yahoo explorer. And the amazing thing is almost 1400 of his backlinks coming from different pages of a PR-7 blog (most pages have PR-5 and more than 300 pages have PR-6 of that blog). If different class-C IP is that important, anybody care to explain-
