Thats just not true in this country as I say the company wont even look at your details unless you have a degree over here (Assuming it is a job they are asking for a degree).

Unless you can get your foot in the door somehow like knowing somebody who works for the company and getting a recommendation, once in the interveiw yeah it comes down to what you know, your experiance and you attitude.

School can also be for fun, I recently enrolled in a correspondence chef school. I mailed in a meatloaf last week and am waiting for to hear how I did.

I agree with that statement. It's not just what you know, it's how you make the most of it as an individual. If you have the drive and hunger for success, you will be much more successful than a lazy Einstein:p

Really depends on what you are doing and how quickly you want to get there. Either way, from what I have read, Einstein wasn't that great in school, so you analogy doesn't add up ;)

I have always been firm believer that a degree in any area is an asset. You may never work in your field of study but think degree exhibits willingness to complete a task.

There are many studies that show lifetime earning potential is directly related to education level. See http://www.ericdigests.org/2003-3/value.htm

I think IT/CS area is one of the areas schools do the poorest job since technology is changing so rapidly.

I strongly believe that degree makes difference. Not because of I am a degree holder, but i have experience of it.

In today's world only "Knowledge" is not important. But you should have certain "Skills" that makes difference. Degree holder can adopt such "Skills" easily. Degree holder can understand technical side very easily.

It is not fair. You should ask for more salary. By the way in training your Project Leader, it is good. You will learn a lot. Even i am aslo in the same position. My Project leader just bring client and discuss with them about price. All work i have to do. They don't know even about SEO other than link exchange. They only have good experience in Business Development.

    Congratulation!

I find this very funny. No offence but even if the World's best chef made a meatloaf and sent it through the mail to me I don't know if i would eat it. ;)

Are meetloafs like a fine wine, better with age?

As far as the college topic, you want to play with the big boys, you have to pay your time. You can't be a know it all with no clout and think you should run the company.

The people who are complaining, it's up to you to take yourself to the next level. If you dont like where you are at, take yourself to the next level. Change jobs, start your own business, gain extra experience, get extended education.

Unless you are Gods gift to business your resume most likely will be in the circular filing cabinet. There is a heck of a lot more to a successful career than knowing how to push the buttons on a computer.

Best action is to take action...

Going to college can be fun, but don't expect the world on a silver platter once you graduate.
