I don't own directories, so i won't know it helps sales, but that is the first thing I check when i submit sites because I come pre-decided which articles to submit .. This is an user feedback :D

I never hi-jacked any thread jg123, I made a point of not doing so. Read the whole post and my first response never mentioned anything remotely to do with the script I support until someone else went and posted advertising 'the phpld mod', Then along came the man with no name and hinted at his own deeplink mod and starting the ball rolling, if anyone hi-jacked this thread then look in other areas, or are you saying its okay for every man on the planet to promote the hell out of a phpld specific mod, as in anon's as posted here and you don't see them accused of hi-jacking, or are there rules for one and rules for another. C'mon.

Maybe I should play smarter and just HINT at things and perhaps start 'leading threads'. For what it's worth I find the constant sneaky posting about phpld annoying and maybe I wouldn't touch it because of this but hey we're all free to make our choices and I think the OP had his question answered which is the main thing isn't it. :)

Two wrongs don't make a right. I learned that at a young age.

Just because someone else went off-topic or hijacked a thread doesn't mean you should follow. Anyways this happens all the time, you have really soured me towards that script and as I said based solely on your behaviour I would not ever try it.

I am a big supporter of phpld and I have also been a strong critic. Before I started my first directory almost 2 years ago I looked into quite a few scripts before ending up with phpld free version. I have also tried indexu and was very excited about that script until I got a big dose of 'bad support'.

Anyways I also learned another lesson or two growing up and one of them was that 'folks that talk about it the most get it the least' and this certainly would apply here. You spout-off about phplynx every chance you get no matter if it is related to the thread topic or not and you also criticize phpld and its users every chance you get. That combo is very annoying and makes you look very unprofessional and simply like a sore loser.

Now I am the one off-topic so this will be my last post here.

    Sorry and thanks.

Points noted jg, certainly not a sore loser, will do what you advised and let the script do the talking, and not to deviate from thread sent you a p.m instead. :)

    Cheers

You have the same type answer for everything. You are a sore loser; just look at your post history. I'm going to remember this thread though in a few days when you do the same thing over again.

That being said An0n's deeplinks mod is great and well worth the mere $100. It is the best mod I have installed in terms of direct ROI.

P.S Do you even have a directory yet?

Tip Top Directory (in my signature) now has deeplinks! 5 for featured listings, 5 for reciprocal listings (only has to be on the main page submitted, not the deeplinks, so you get 2 free links in return), and 3 for regular links...a bit unorthodox, but I am going to try it...oh...all links are permanent, unless I decide one is unappropriate and remove it.

Please tell me if my submit page is too persuasive... ;)

Also, do I have to code an html page based on the template to have a FAQ page, or can I somehow do it from the backend (still learning about phpld).

Thanks for turning me onto the whole deeplinks idea...I donno if my method will work, but if it doesn't I can easily switch back.

Dubz, I posted a p.m to jg123 telling him what I think happens on this forum, and what you just did backed me up 100%, you all seem to think its okay to brag up someone else's mod as long as its phpld related but complain about someone else daring to stand up with a different opinion. As much as you might get bored with me posting about phpLynx I get bored with certain posts as well but I'm not a ten year old that cries about it.

Yes I do have a directory thanks, and doing very nicely, I've also 95% finished a brand new directory script as well, will let you know when that's done.

    Keep it civil please. :)

    The original question was:

Many directory owners has install the deeplinks mod at their directories.Thsi mod becomes most popular in this industry. Many person has advise me to do so for my all directories. My question is

“Does deeplink mod increase directory sell?”

    - This question is clearly not about scripts. The OP is exclusively asking about ROI of a deeplinks mod that is not part of basic install. Your script comes with it installed...

Regardless, your new script should be interesting based on your opinions of what constitutes a good script and value for money.

Guys, take the flamewar somewhere else...I have an issue, though with the deeplinks mod:

Well, it seems people can screw me out of some extra links by selecting Featured, and just submitting that way and not paying, hoping that a lazy admin (me?) will approve that...

I am trying to decide if I should edit these, or ban them. In the meantime, is there a way to keep that sort of thing from happening?

The sad thing is these guys are mostly high pr paid directories.

If someone doesn't pay I leave the account the way it is for about 48 hours. If it hasen't been paid than I simply reject it. If the payment hasen't been made in 48 hours... Chances are almost slim to none they will pay and if they are they will go to the trouble of resubmitting. I think this problem will always exist. It's tolerable if you ban the heavy offending IP's.

Well, they aren't even trying to pay. They are just selecting the wrong option hoping I will select all and approve...

    So, I changed it up...deeplinks:
    5 for featured
    3 for free/regular
    5 for reciprocal

Are you kidding? The Mods is a massive incentive to submitters.

My advice is get the Mod as soon as you can!

    Thanks Brian

ilikenwf maybe they decide they don't like this

I would make me feel a tad bit uncomfortable, sounds kind of like you want to mention a catch-all so you can remove peoples links for any reason.

Who owns the directory? If somebody starts using 302 redirects to send people to porn or affiliate/mfa sites, I reserve the right to remove their site.

I don't want mfa/crap/spam sites, and I don't want porn. Pretty much everything else will fly.

You share the same thoughts of most directory owners regarding the don't want crappy sites in the directory.

Basically you should write what you just wrote (only in a more customer friendly manner) to point out what you mean. The way it reads now is you can remove whatever whenever. Mention the reasons why a listing will be removed not just that you can. Obviously you can; you are the directory owner.

    Best of luck,
    ROb

I guess my advice was good then, I will pat myself on the back.

You might want to rephrase that, I mean how much warez or illegal content is ok for someone to still get listed in your directory?
