Does comments at DP count as backlinks and how can we proove this?

Can anyone give a logical explanation about this topic and about comments in general!

 

When I use SEO Elite it shows my forum signature counting as a backlink.

 

Is SEO elite a kind of backlink checker! I think best way to prove is using google webmaster tools or this way:link:yourwebsite.com at SE.

 

I know for a fact that my signature links at dp count as backlinks, for certain
subpages of my site I have built all of my backlinks from my signature links at
dp and my sub pages have appeared on the 1st page of google for quite a few
of the keywords that I have targeted in my signature links.

 

The signature links at DP does count as backlinks but they pass very little juices and google doesn't provide that much significance to them.yeah if the signature link is appearing at the high PR pages in DP then its really valuable

Yes, Signature links on DP do count as they are dofollow. However, they are only good for indexing your webpage within 48 hours. If you want those signature links to count as a link that has concentrated 'link juice', forget it. DP is a webmaster forum. If you are doing a website that concerns animals, it makes sense to participate in a forum that are discussing about animals. DP is just a place to get irrelevant backlinks.

But, what does Google want? Irrelevant or relevant backlinks? You know the answer.

 

DP links show up inside webmaster tools by their hundreds and will rank sites in some niches for their anchor text all on their own.

how much or little google count them in amongst other links we will never know but when they are the only links you point at a site and over a few months it climbs from outer 50's to top 5, you'd have to say theyre doing something

 

Yup dp sig links count as backlinks.. You can either check with any backlink checker tool or the best option is Google webmaster tools but that takes time to update backlinks.

Every link counts if it is DOFOLLOW. Get as many as you can.

How does this effect DP though? I mean you would think all these outgoing links would decrease ranking yet they still have a pretty high rating

 

My DP sig links show up in Google Webmaster Tools. Not all of them, but well over 500 easily (I never counted). So they are indexed, but how much SEO weight 500 links from the same domain provides is open for debate.
