    Hello guys!
I have sports blog www .sportsstatsblog .com/

I just wanna ask if I used to comment on good PR blogs which are other than sports niche; will they help me to increase my PR? Or I should find out exactly the same niche site?

    Waiting for your reply

    Regards

You just need back links from higher PR sites... and yes... juices do flow, even if they are coming from sites not related to your site's subject! :)

Yes it would help your site PR even on a different niche. Niche and relevancy are not matter for building links toward PR purpose. As long as those page has high PR, your site would get it through.

I beg to differ on this subject. Links from different niches are only gonna take you little far.

Try out relevant blog commenting to that of your blog you will see more results in a shorter time..

Back links from unrelated niches will still give PR. They do not even need to have your keywords for anchor text. My last project was to create backlinks to a site where just my site url or first name or 'click here' was used. PR 2 in in 3 weeks on last update with only a few hundred backlinks the highest being a PR3.
I believe it can help but it is not something I focus on too much. Wherever I can get a link I am happy as long as it is in a good neighborhood.

The bottom line is that google does not, and can not expect everyone in every niche to get links from sites in the same niche. It's a lame assumption.

If Dave's shoes sells 10,000 pairs of shoes online to his customers, how many of those customers are going to have websites of their own? Probably a few thousand. Now tell me this, out of those few thousand shoe customers that have websites, how many of them are shoe related websites? Likely very few.

There are some niches where the only relevant sites are competition, and competing site owners are going to be very reluctant to give you a link. Think about insurance, groceries, roofing, office supplies. These are niches that are mainly competition-based, when's the last time you saw an enthusiast blog about a guy's love for roofing materials? So for the webmaster of a roofing company website, he's going to need to look elsewhere, in un-related niches for links.

If you happen to be in a niche where there are a gazillion fake-content blogs about your topic, great, spray and pray, but if you're marketing a tangible product, it's not as easy out there.

This is all rudimentary to Google, and they take this under huge consideration, therefore PR is still attainable from sourcing links from sites completely outside of your own site's niche.

I will follow that up with a recommendation to not comment spam blogs...it's just not a good linking practice. Have fun :)

As long as the pages on which you were commenting have a very high page rank, it is all right

It is true that all PR "do follow" links help. Think about it any web master can set up links so how could google deduct PR for a potentially malicious act by another webmaster. Just get as many high PR links as possible and let her rip.

I think it's fair to say that you'll get more from your efforts if the post you're commenting on is relevant to your niche, but the irrelevant links will still have some value - providing they're not marked as nofollow. However I don't think of blog commenting as one of the most effective SEO techniques - it's usually a lot of effort for very little reward. Much better for your site to create soundbites from your stats and get them out over social channels so people start talking about them.

There are only a few principles to follow. Firstly, the niche has to be relevant. so sub niches of a market directly related to yours is fine. for example, market= weight loss, your niche is how to burn tummy fats, you can comment on niches like how to lose weight in ten days. Secondly, your backlinks must be dofollow.

I think what you are trying to ask is how to increase your traffic. have you social bokkmarked your sites? RSS aggregators? keyword analysis? these are things you need to consider. hope this helps.

I would try writing articles that people would want to link to instead of chasing blog comments.

If you wanna have to increase your PR, you just need to find some high ranked PR sites for do-follow comments. It can be any niche, doesnot really matter unless you have quality backlinks directing to your blog.

As i did link building for my website and i got backlinks from different niche sites. So i did not face any difficulty in achieving my PR. So dont worry about that. Just get backlinks from high PR blogs , your PR will be increased soon.
