Some might be do follow, but I think most of them tend to have nofollow links. I think places like wordpress automatically have this setting. If you do find a blog that doesn't use nofollow tags, just be careful about what you use as your name. The name is usually what becomes the anchor text for your link, but if it's keywords and not an actual name, not only is it possible for the comment to be marked as spam, but this could automatically place that set of words as spam for filters like Askimet, used throughout wordpress....

Blog commenting count as backlinks. Also you need to comment on sites that are of High PR. Do not try to comment on auto approve spammy blogs

    hi anandy,

well blog commenting will help you to get back links to your website. it's one of the trusted ways also. but when you place a back link to any blog try to make your comment relevant to the content. this makes the webmasters approve your comment easily. :)

please don't spam the blogs with irrelevant comments.

when you are placing any back-link it can be do-follow or no-follow, it depends on the blog but always keep in mind that "a link is a link". :)

    kindest,
    abhishek kundu

    Are they worth doing? Yes

Are comments in blogs do follow links? Well, some of them.

Does commenting on other blogs helps us to gain back links? Yes. Just make sure that you leave your links and not just post on those other blogs that you choose. :)

Yes it's worthy of doing, but you need to check out manually to make sure it's dofollow. blog commenting is actually more and more hard to get approved because most bloggest would like people to use their real name but not keywords to comment.

Yes blog commenting can increase your backlinks. Some may have "do-follow" and "no-follow", but don't be too concerned about that, what you should look into is the relativity of the blog to your niche and the PR of the blog.
