I am just putting the finishing touches on my website and was wondering if color scheme of the site will effect the amount of traffic I will receive. What I mean is, some research indicates people respond differently to different colors so if my site utilizes this research will more people click on ads, return to the site, or stay on the site while their there etc.
Yes a color scheme will play a slight role in the user staying longer, I mean if you have a bright yellow background with orange boxes and use black text that will hurt the eyes would you want to look at that site any longer? It will not effect the amount of traffic you will receive though, the bots can care less what color scheme you are using as long as you are not trying to hide text on them. So the traffic will still come from any organic results you have, PPC campaigns you are running or links from other sites. Now how well the traffic will convert is another story. Greens, blues and whites are favored for the calming and soothing effect it has on us as humans. If the color scheme is horribly bad and the content you are showing is just as bad then there is no way that user will stay or ever come back again. Give a horrible layout with great content and yes some people will stay because of the content, but there is no guarantee they will come back.
Directly there isno effect i think.. But ppls to spend time on yours site need good color schema........
If you really want to understand why color theory is so important: http://www.wetcanvas.com/ArtSchool/Color/ColorTheory/ http://www.worqx.com/color/ http://www.ysbl.york.ac.uk/~mgwt/KKwebcourse/colourscience/colourharmony.html There you go. Different target, different color scheme. Hope it helps.
It got an effect making people fall in love at first sight. Although many think its silly, it is an important issue.
