I drink coffee everyday but since few months now I find myself hard to sleep because of coffee. I don't really know what's wrong with me Is it because I'm getting old?
Ahh I completely mis-read that title then! Thought you were asking if coffee was an alternative for the little blue pill
I drink a lot of coffee and don't have problems with sleeping. Till 9am I take at least 2 or 3 cups of coffee, 1 aroun noon and 1 around 5pm. Last cup I take before going to sleep, around 10pm...
Coffee is the nectar of the Gods. It's good for you and increases alertness and cognitive thinking. However the caffeine in it could prevent sleep from occurring. Simply abstain from any coffee four hours before you retire, and all should be well.
Switch to decaf. There are other benefits to drinking coffee besides caffeine. Here's an in-depth diagram as to how your body will react to different types of coffee:
Being on a night shift, I consume a lot of coffee. Like, an awful lot. It gives me the energy and I am not having a hard time sleeping thus far. Maybe because I am tired as hell when I get home
I don't drink coffee; never liked the taste. I get my caffeine from tea and a little bit from soda all day long. But I have to stop all intake of caffeine at 5:00pm or I will toss and turn all night in bed. My wife, can have a strong cup of coffee or tea just before bedtime and sleep like a baby, so it is all dependent upon your chemistry. And note that your chemistry can change as you age.
Nope I have a tolerance to coffee these days. Caffeine is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant, that's why it makes it hard for you to sleep. If it affects you greatly, you should avoid drinking coffee past around 8pm.
I have found that if I have caffeine after 5:00pm, I will have a restless night. My wife, on the other hand, can drink caffeine just before bed and sleep well. YMMV.
Based on my survey from my co-workers here, drinking coffee really makes you hard to sleep. I am working in a call center and drinking coffee really helps me to always alive.
