I looked at the item numbers for the ones that CJ paid out on and every single one of them was a usa bidder. I know what almost half of the clicks came from international eBay users, so whats the deal?
Ok, I figured out that you have to be a member of each of eBays foreign sites as an affiliate and you have to send them directly there. For instance, you have to send a person in england to ebay.uk in order to get creidt. So I figure I have to redirect them right? Click on a link to get to get to my website, then have pass the link through a automatic redirect based upon their IP address? Does anyone have an example of some PHP code that will do this? I was going to use MaxMind GeoIP for the IP address lookup. Also, is anyone a member of Germany's eBay affiliate site? It seems like that is one of the ones that you have to sign up for seperate from all of the ones listed in CJ
Are you sure about this? What if somebody from Canada puchases an item located in Canada from ebay.com (not .ca)?
Yeah, I as an affiliate and as a consumer do not like that you have to sign up for ebays individual sites seperetly. I think that if you sign up on Ebay.com then that should sign you up on all the ebay site. I always see cool stuff on ebay.co.uk that I want to buy, that will ship to the US, but I really don't want to start a new, seperate, account so I don't buy. Ebay.com should be universal, a compilation of all ccTLD listings. And if all these other ccTLDs are developed then Ebay.us needs to be developed into a country site for the US buyers. But IMPersonalO I think ebay just needs to be Ebay.com and all other ext's should direct to ebay.com.
If there are in a country other than the USA, it will automaticly redirect to their own coutries eBay site. I am an experienced eBay seller with over a 20,000+ feedback rating. Over 70% of my business comes from overseas, so I would really like to take advantage of the .ca .uk .de .fr ebay affiliate commissions.
You may just need to refer people to a seperate page with your foreign ebay affiliate link on it. You can link to your own site if it has more info about your auction, like more details or pictures. Don't push the limits though since all it takes is one user complaint if you violate their linking TOS to get your auctions shut down.
