I made a sale recently, where-in a friend of mine used the link to buy a product and it didnt get recorded in CJ. I has happened to me a lot of times. Could any one help me regarding the same. I have not for any conversion yet. Though I see over 10000 click of the link.
I've noticed that Google adwords and Yahoo shows that I'm getting lots of clicks, but they don't show up on CJ stats.
I honestly believe that CJ's clicks and sales are not tracked properly. Me and my partner both noticed this over a period of time and stopped using CJ a few years ago. I'll never go back there again.
I'm direct linking to advertisers websites. Every click I get would be an affilliate link, all CJ affilliate links.
It doesn't matter who the vendor is or what is being sold. It only matters if CJ is actually tracking links. And in my opinion from my own experience... and I've been with CJ a very very long time. It's hit and miss. I am not seeing very good tracking at all... so I'm pulling back from most of my own CJ Promotions. Cookies are simply not working that well... and it's tougher and tougher to track them. But no affiliate network seems to have a solution to this problem. I just pulled a campaign because CJ is NOT even tracking the impressions properly. And it's set up correctly.
I have a feeling they are not tracking my sales either. When I used a different affiliate program other than cj for the same products they registered the sales.
CJ wouldn't still be around if they didn't payout....The key is to test CJ against other options, and see what pays out the best
Hi, It seems better to join the affiliate program at the company's website directly since CJ links are not working all the while. However, if I join the Internal affiliate program instead of through Commission Junction, the commission rate is lower.
Earlier this month, I did a very careful test of such a situation - a company that had both CJ and self-managed programs. Last month (June), I did links only off the vendor's self-managed program. Result: $658 in gross sales and $128 in commissions. But since the self-managed pays out at much lower than the 50% rate on CJ, I decided to switch all links over to CJ for the same vendor. Same exact ads, just taht in June coming off self-managed and July coming off CJ. Result: $0 in gross sales, $0 in commissions. Hung in with the CJ links for 15 days even though it was painful, but I wanted it to run long enough that it was meaningful test. On July 16, switched back over to the self-managed links. Guess what? Sales immediately started up again. Now am at $300 gross sales for the month in 11 days - roughly same as the rate for June. This is the 2nd time I have tried this experiment. Same result both times. Bottom line: CJ program for this vendor simply does not work. Unfortunately, I've had similarly bad sales results for other CJ vendors. Lots of clicks (though not as many as my ad server tells me are being delivered), but rarely get a sale. This is very different from most of the other programs I am part of where I sometimes hit 7% conversion rate and rarely drop below 1% conversions. For CJ, nothing is >1%. Probably will be bailing on them entirely soon - but this is painful because they have some excellent vendors. Any thoughts on this? Why would CJ conversions be so lame for this test vendor as well as others? Makes no sense to me, but has been this way ever since I started running ads through them. Completely terrible performance. Since my vendors generally convert extremely well through other programs, I figure problem is somehow with how CJ operates.
