I have a brand new site (about a month) that is getting decent rankings in google. Problem is, I'm not happy with where it's hosted. I have a reseller account at hostgator and want to move it there, will this affect my serps at all? Both servers are in the US, not sure if that matters or not.
It can only affect local searches, I'm talking about google.co.uk, google.hr, google.si because of location of server (IP) On global searches it can't effect rankings
When I've moved servers in the past I've never noticed any loss of rankings, keeping the servers in the same country shouldn't harm any local SERPS.
For the long term, I have to move servers, so I have no choice. thanks a bunch for the replies, rep for all. I'll start a new thread in a few months to let everone know how it went. slightly off topic: godaddy sucks a lot. they seem to be fine for basic sites but I need more access and a more reliable database </rant>
