does buying tons of backlinks work?

does buying like 1000 backlinks of sites work or does it have no effect since most if not all of the sites are unrelated to yours? i see these offers all the time and tons of people on here are buyin em. whats your input?

 

I think search engines prefer a slow build up of links over time. Submit articles, submit your site to directories and post comments forums and blogs.

 

Build slowly make it natural

And if you buy backlinks buy from Related (this is a must)

 

The slower the better, but if they are quality they will hel out a lot more - good luck!

 

IMO I think it has to do with the site your linking to, and where the link is located. Also your link title has to draw someone into your site.
