does *.blogspot.com and *.wordpress.com domains give more SE ranking?

Does having a blog (e.g. *.blogspot.com, *.wordpress.com) domain give more search engine ranking than a personal one such as my-blog-domain.com?

Does it get crawl faster?

I have 2 blogs and is considering putting it on my own domains for better SEO and for a more professional look.

 

Even though they get crawled more often I would say having your blog with your own domain make more sense as per branding.

 

Yes they get crawled little faster some times but if you are serious about blogging and in future looking for good money than u should take your own domain name , I have seen most of big brand and sponsor think if this guy is using free services than that is not good he can stop working any time or he will work when ever he want , but you have purchsed good domain name and hosting than they can sponsor you . If have a blog on blogspot 2 year older many guys started blogging with me and few days they purchased their own domain name and today their blogs are the one of the best blogs in India and they are minting huge money and i am still using adsense ,

 

Right now I have a blog juzdwear.blogspot.com and I'm getting the feed to my site juzdwear.com/down-lo. Since the feed is coded into my blog it will require a lot of programming to code the whole blog in?!?

Also having it on blogspot which is a different server creates inlinks. I'm thinking of creating another domain on another server and have the blog there, that will build the inlinks plus I can easily move the whole blog there. But then it might be confusing.

 

Yes they Blogs are wordpress and blogspot get crawl faster then self host domain blogs... but crawl rate does not affect the SERP rankings.

About the PR, By no means blogspot will give you higer PR ... so no advantage of using it.

About the PR, Yes Wordpress have this advantage, if you have a blog on wordpress then you will get many links from wordpress tags pages, by this it will increase your PR,, this is the reason why most of the wordpress blogs have PR 2/3 (although they are never seen by any users, as they are useless blogs).

About the SERP or Search Engine Ranking
It does not affect the SERP in having a blog at blogspot or wordpress or your on host...

About the BRANDING
Yes, if you will have a blog on your own domain you will get benefits in branding..

I will recommend you to host your blog at wordpress (it will increase your PR), but choose your own domain (its a paid service with wordpress). by this you will get high PR + a branded domain. thats all everyone wants.

It's much better to have your own domain hosted on either blogspot or wordpress (paid)...
It will benefit you in long term as far as branding/trademark purposes...
And combined wit proper optimization, you'll do fine...

 

I've switched it over for about a week now. I noticed that before when I make a post it gets crawled and indexed the same day. I get a google alert at the end of the day. But now I don't even get them.

This can be big for timely entries.

 

Both can give a SE ranking but it depends on how you optimize it..But for me personally, blogspot is much easier to use..

 

I do not find that either one gets crawled faster than a self hosted blog. Self-hosted blogs are much easier to tweak and do SEO for. I have four blogspots and three self hosted and my self hosted get indexed much faster and have better rankings in the SE. I find Wordpress.com too limited to make any money with so I do not even bother with them.

Maybe my mistake, I just got a google alert for my post that i made 2 hours ago. Maybe the new domain needs to be index first.

 

They used to be better for SEO, but with all blog spam nowadays, Google is giving less value to free hosted blogs...

I just noticed I have Wordpress on my fantastico, will setting this up have the same effectiveness as having it on wordpress.com and having my own domain?
