I have a couple of different websites and one of them is a blog, others are one pager/non-blog websites. Even if I get 5 times more traffic to my blog than my other websites, it doesn't make more money. The difference is that with the blog I have to spend at least one hour per day writing an intelligent post which requires a lot more work than my other websites which are basically passive AdSense income. I'm starting to think that a blog is not necessarily worth the effort considering I have to put a lot more time into it... What do you think?
it really depends on what your blog is about, etc.. Guys like John Chow, Shoemoney and John Cow make a butt-load of money from blogging. All my earnings come from my website, and my blog is about how i make that money. My blog has no advertising so aside from the occasional aff-link, it doesn't generate any income.. I guess i do it just to help other webmasters learn by what I'm doing. I only make one or two posts per week, so yah, it's worth it for me.
If you think making money is easy on the internet then try some other place . There is no such thing as easy money .You have to give it some time and have to work hard to generate some income. Do it if you like it do not do it for money only . Thats my view
Thanks Terabite! I also blog for fun and information, not for money in the first place... kashifmahmood, trust me I know making money with Adsense is hardwork. I've spent a lot of sleepless nights working on my websites and it's starting to pay off! What I'm basically saying is that comparing my blog to my other websites, it's not making the same kind of money. I need about 10 times more traffic on my blog if I want to make the same amount of money I'm making on regular website... Anyway, I guess we all blog because we like it in the first place, then money is a nice side effect
I definitely think it is worth the effort for me, just to see the response I get from my readers. That being said, I have a lot of fun doing it, and while the spare change I get from the blog is nice, it's not the reason I write posts every day.
Ive never been any good at making money with blogs, but if you have a valued audience there is money to be made, i guess i'm not patient enough to build up a good base of regular readers.
I think it's worth it if you enjoy what you're doing, but if you blog purely for profit it feels like too much work. For me, it feels like too much work
Since you are emphasizing on increasing the income from your blog I will suggest that you look for other affiliates and also sponsored reviews also work well for a blog . Anyways good luck
I agree fully, blogging is not for everyone. You have to really like what you do. If not your better off with that passive adsense income.
