As long as you have a backlink to your site from the articles in the article directory there isn't going to be any problem. But it is not advisable to submit an article in more thabn 3-4 article directories.

sometimes it is counted as duplicate content by google. but if your put resource link in your site then it will not count as duplicate contents. you can also submit  your articles by rewriting them.

If you submit one article in different article websites then it may considered as a spam. If you owe a blog then you no longer need to post your articles on other articles sites.

well if you rewrite the article each time before submit on a new site that will not be counted as spam as you are posting unique post just on a single site

Duplicate content issues - Hey as long as you submit your articles first to your own website 1st before you submit them to article directories the only ones that will not rank are the ones in the article directories.

If you wish to have them rank in the directories rewrite them well and you will not be penalized...:)

As long as your resource link on article is same. It'll not considered as duplicate content. You can understand what's the purpose of article directory sites...

It is always better to play safe, submit one original article to a Article Directory which has a decent PR, atleast above 3. Try to spin the article as much as possible using a software or if can't afford to buy a decent spinner make use of free online spinner or use MS Word and replace the words by its synonyms and submit this to a low PR directory. It is always good to have links from various Directories and different PR. Do not be afraid of no-follow tags, you should look natural in the eyes of G00gle. And also have a blog and post articles there as well.

I posted my article to various sites.  I am doing this to generate more traffic, get more exposure beside being ranked in Page Rank.  In fact, every site has different requirement.  So, we are somehow need to edit our article and submit accordingly.

This has been answered so many times, it's just embarrassing. Search engines don't like displaying multiple copies of the same old *** in answer to a user query, because it is a poor user experience. So they tend to show the most important copy, according to their own algorithm, and guess what, YOUR copy isn't the most important copy, the one on ezinearticles, or articlebase or Yahoo is. You can defeat this by making sure that you submit a unique version of your article to each directory. You then have a better chance for appearing for some of the variations on a search that would normally result in only the most important copy of the article being seen, because the engine will be under the impression it's different from the other article.

This is what people mean by 'duplicate content penalty'. It's not a penalty as such, it's just a consequence of the engines wanting to deliver a good user experience that results in exactly the same result as a penalty would. You still see people arguing about this on other forums (newbie forums like warriorforum') but anyone who is making any money already know it.

How do you know it's true?

    Go to google.

Search for ANY money making term.

Count up the number of result on page 1 that are straight copies of a result above them.

    Total?

    ZERO.

it might counted as duplicate content and therefore suggest to rewrite/spin it before you submit them to article directory

With the new updation of Google Panda, it is now quite possible that Google might count the Article Submissions as Duplicate Content. It is really going to be a tough situation for all the Article and PR submission Sites.

Any content that has the same information of another one is considered as duplicated.
But, if you post something on your new website and, after that, post the same thing on EzineArticles, i think Google will give more value to EzineArticles than your new website.

I prefer to wait for my article to get indexed before submitting it.
And when I submit it, I place a link back to my article. Works like a charm.
