Does Article Rewriting Software Work?

To avoid duplicate content, does article rewriting software work? Stuff that swaps a few synonyms or adds random sentences? If it added random sentences wouldn't that just make the article sound stupid and convert less successfully? Can you reorder the paragraphs to avoid duplicate content?

I wrote a script that swapped words, it worked like a dream, traffic just goes up and up.
I even tryed having thousands of pages consisting just of random words, that worked to a certain extent, i only did 30,000 'articles' but i was getting traffic from google for strange keywords. I can see that if you had millions upon millions of articles of randomness then the chances of someone typing it into google becomes better.

Yeah, but randomness wouldn't work for affiliate sales...

No, theres no focus so affiliates would be useless but it worked for pay per click programs. I wasnt doing it seriously though so in the couple months i had the pages up I managed to make about $180 out of the randomness, not bad really.

Like dddougal said, it's basically for MFA pages. I don't see why anyone would put affiliate links in crap articles and expect people to click them and buy something...

I no longer use those software,
but my brain - works great!

I also don't mass submit anymore,
    unless you need backlink.

If you want to make money and sale,
submit to 3-5 top article directories
    everyday.

Submit like 20 articles a day to them
and expect to make 50-100 each day
in next 30 days if you promoting
    right product.

    Hope that helps,
    Sean

If I were to rewrite a review of a product myself, what would I have to do to avoid duplicate? Change a few synonyms, or would I have to do a thorough restructuring?

I have tried not less than 5 article rewriter in the market for the past 1 year. All I can say is avoid using rewriter unless you are targeting MFA sites. Sites built with article using rewriter software are all junks.

The best way is to rewrite yourself or hire somebody to do it. It is not difficult as many would think. Just rephrase the article in your own style and words.

I would go to elance to get it re written , if you have more money than time , aslo someone said the banning of sites because of duplicate content happens less than we think
