I have been looking into different ways in which I can advertise my mobile massage website.

obviously I am looking for customers from a local geographic area.

does anyone use yellowpages.com for advertising? And have you had good results?

i haven't heard anything great about doing this. people just type into google what they are looking for. why take the extra step and go to yellowpages.

i would try out targeted advertising on facebook. people check that atleast once per day. you can target it down to your local consumers.

be sure to post results. It sounds like it'd be a great fit for that type of business. make sure you really utilize a facebook fan page as well. setup the landing page option on facebook and build a custom page using an html tab. then make a post on your personal facebook page that says, "free hour massage to the 9th person to make a post on their facebook page that recommends my service." then have them put the link to your fb fan page.

when their friends visit, it will send em to your facebook landing page that says, "like my page and get $10 off your next massage." bam.

rack up those "likes," set up an account with sendible and schedule posts to be sent every 4-5 days. that away your facebook page is automated and you can concentrate on other marketing ideas.

Only way I could see a yellowpage campaign being effective is if you have a brick and mortar company and you advertised locally for it. Another possibility would be a review site that listed local B&M's. Good luck and post back if you have any success. I'd like to hear about it.

Yellowpages is expensive; I agree with the facebook campaign. Also, I would make sure that you keep all of your clients on your email list. Then you can offer monthly specials, whatever.

I know there is way to do this with SMS (text messages); I will look for that link and re-post...

Yellow pages will also trap you into a contract...so if you decide later that you do not like
them, then you stuck as you will be under yellow pages contract...unlike other advertising, if
you do not like, then you do not renew, not with yellow pages....

first of all YP is a good one ,you can use also these places:

-LinkedIn : "LinkedIn Services", allow LinkedIn users to find business service providers either through their connections, or by browsing through the different service categories, or through keyword search .

-Google: "Place Pages" which aggregates reviews, photos, details, and maps .

-Google local business center , you should optimize your listing ,google it ..

-YellowBot: a local search service that lets users find and review places .

    -Yahoo's Local Shortcut ..
