Does anyone really use Yahoo's search engine anymore? I used to, but when Google came online I pretty much never use Yahoo anymore. So, does people still use Yahoo as their main search engine?

I use Google for searches, buy yahoo.com remains the #1 ranked site by Alexa, Compete.com and Quantcast so I'm fairly certain it still has a significant market share.

Okey... Well, I have several yahoo email accounts which I use quite often, but I never use the yahoo search. Maybe because I am lazy and only use the google search bar in my webbrowser Opera :p

Actually from research I have done,

Yahoo is the # 1 traffic site on the Internet.

Yahoo is the # 1 display advertising business.

Some of the hospitals on the East coast of the USA Philadelphia Nyc & Boston that I know of, have Yahoo set as their homepage as most of the medical staff have Yahoo e-mail addresses.

Yahoo sends a better performing shopper to websites with retail price points of $4.99 to $99.99

Yahoo games has a huge amount of users between 10 and 80 years old lol....good spot to place display ads.

Yahoo users spend on average 30 minutes within the Yahoo walls

Google users spend about 8 minutes now....up from 6 minutes several years ago.

Google is a search engine Yahoo is not.

Yahoo is a portal......Google has been trying for years to be a portal and has been chasing Yahoo for years as their role model..

Not using Yahoo as part of your marketing mix is insane....

    :D

    Thanks for the info.

I live in Norway, and I spend pretty much time online, on Norwegian forums and such, and I never see anyone referr to Yahoo's search engine. It's Google all the way. Always. I am a member of the two biggest forums in Norway, and people always tell others to "google it" or refer to google in some way... As far as I know, Yahoo isn't very popular in Norway.

I like to check in different places for my info, get different angles on things

A bit like not listening to only 1 tv news channel,

Yahoo appears as the most trafficked site, because Google spreads out its traffic amongst its many domains.

I don't use Yahoo for its search engine, but rather for its other services.

A bit of a naive thread title, but I'll admit, it drew me in. Of course people use Yahoo! search engine. I think people underestimate Yahoo! sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I don't use it for my personal searches and for browsing. But it is certainly useful for checking SEO methods and SERP positioning.

You have to remember that Yahoo! owns the second largest portion of the search sector on the Internet. And Yahoo! also have the world's most visited homepage, so people are bound to use the search.

Like I said, a little bit of a cheeky question :p.
