Does anyone use the Direct Deposit option for payments?

There's a payment option on the Clickbank website where they allow direct deposits to your bank account after you have recieved 2 paper checks.

Just wondering if anyone has taken up the direct deposit option? And if so does your bank charge you a fee to have these funds deposited into your account.

I spoke to Westpac bank (I'm in Australia) and they said I'd be up for a $12 fee for each overseas bank deposit.

Since I've never heard of this fee, I was hoping someone could confirm if they get charged too. Thanks in advance.

I use the direct deposit to Singapore bank (Maybank) since my country (Malaysia) is not listed in the direct deposit list of country. I can't recall any fee charge from Maybank though.

I use the direct deposit option here in the UK, and I don't get charged. Check out other banks and see if they will charge. If they all do, then stick with good old fashioned cheques until your earning so much that the $12 is irrelevant.

I use it and there is no fee for me. I'm in the US so it may be different elsewhere.

I have used direct deposit for years now, and it works great.

The only time I still use checks is when I open a new account.

    Very time consuming.

The fee is called international transfer fee. It's standard for most banks receiving money from outside there own country.

You pay a fee for your check as well, so it doesn't make sense to NOT use direct deposit.

    Or you like wasting time...
