I saw a thread the other day regarding setting deadlines in completing your goal. I think this thread is similar to that one. BTW, I used to write some short term goals on a paper and keep it some where near the monitor, so that every time I look at the monitor, I am gently reminded about my next work. Sounds funny? but works great :)

I write down couple of Plans. I write down the things I have achieved.
Writing stuff is good. To set up plans, I generally not think of the result, I just concentrate on the work. Being Honest to the work, Dedications, Motivations and other psychological matters influences the succession of plans.

I don't really have "life goals"... but I do have a little A4 whiteboard that I use for ideas and 'to do' lists. Which I guess could be considered my immediate 'life goals' :p

Majority of people do not. Those who write their goals on paper achieve them only if they make proper planning and execute the plan meticulously.Biographies of great men tell this.

I read that writing your golas down starts a powerfull process, try it and look at your goals before you go to bed every night and see what happends!!!!
