Hey, just wondering if anyone has ever used or is using this hacker safe thing. Its that green graphic you see on some sites now that says this site is hacker safe or something.

    http://www.scanalert.com/

If so, how much does it cost? They wont tell you on the website?

    Thanks, cheers

They called me and tried to sell it to me, it's very expensive. The only benefit you get is a link from their pagerank 8 website.

    Use http://alertsite.com/

They are more reasonable and their website button looks more professional.

ScanAlert quoted me $1800 a year and they wouldn't even throw in a case of beer. ;)

I currently use scanalert.com but am looking at trialling alertsite.com.

I have been very happy with scan alert so far but alertsite.com is about $300 cheaper.

I'm curious. They say they scan you site every day. Have they ever found any intrusions?

My guess is that anyone paying something like that is a processing or hosting company.

i.e. an enterprise sized company with many users, and their license covers ALL of them.

I used it for a few clients, it is useful because it serves to strength confidence in shoppers, best to use for ecommerce sites.

    Yeah in the beginning loads.

Mainly SQL injection and some XSS but after fixing the code with the fixes it ran ok only pulling up minor flaws.

Its an excellent tool if you have other coders working on the site as the testing is automated and they produce different scenarios for you to run.

Its expensive for some but in my opinion worth every penny. To be honest the $1800 per year is not a lot for a serious company.

    Correct.

If you run an enterprise type site. Peace of mind is worth it.

    2 cents.
