I had tried 000webhost.com , it was quite good though I heard some misgivings over their referrer system. I think they fine tune quite a bit as they progresses, but still looks to be one of the best free hosts around.

I have used them, their SQL servers are always down..
I do not recommend free hosting services. but You can use free hosting that gives with a paid domain.

I also tried 000webhost it is really good. The only disadvantage is that there is a problem with FTP connection. It regularly disconnects.

Free hostings are good for new webowners, coz they can try any thing in it, but for proffesional
i dont suggest, coz they can be down any time and there are lot of limits there

Free web hosting is worth if you find the right host with no nags or strings attached.

Lots of free hosting services don't longer place banners or popups in your site and many of them come with PHP and Cpanel, what makes easier the management of a smaill to medium website.

However if you special PHP requirements such as fopen, safe mode off, and so on, or you have a very busy website or resource intesive, paid hosting is best option for you.

BTW, downtime may occurs in any web hosting service, including those you pay for.

I've yet to see an established free host that doesnt litter your site with ads and has good uptime/reliability.

I'm all for saving a buck, but I would certainly rethink free if I planned on making a business site.

I use 000webhost they are the most trusted free web hosting as I know. They have good 24 hours customer support and hosting is totally free with No ads. One thing about them is they do a website review time to time after for at least one month to make sure no one using there free service for abuse but after few reviews they are fine.

I used to use free host such as zymic.com, freehostia they seem ok and supportive but yet their have some limitation.

If you looking to have a much stability then better opt for paid one. However do some research before buy any of them...

The thing you should check is:
    1) uptime - check their main homepage and their client(if you can get any of them)
    2) support - if their have live chat, try asking any question from basic to technical thing(do this around a week). If their support didnt supportive and friendly, better run away from their lol...imagine when you become their client
    3) the other is subjective to your need such as space and other specs

I do use free hosting for some sites. I have found that there are some pretty good free hosting companies that offer cpanel and most important Fantastico so when setting up new blogs etc you can do it all from hosting admin panel really easy.

Also this is a great way to test other scripts such as Joomla etc and develop a new site with no cost.

I also use free web hosting to test my scripts before I go Live with it. It's free you can beat that.

you will not get good support when you will need for free hosting.
I suggest to go for paid i.e. bluehost, hostgator etc..

I didnt use free web hosting yet or not even use it to test a new site. There are a lot problem with free hosting, i cant bear limited CPU/RAM resource or ads on my site. Im using paid hosting for peace of mind.
