Just curious about some recent numbers of mine. In paticular a two day period I had recently. On one of my sites I run a single unit adsense banner which displays only one ad. The 234x60 unit. I do this so I can very accurately track ctr, cpms, and revenue, and adjust my site accordingly. Its basically a tester site for all my other websites. On a certain two day period I received nearly identical CTR, # of clicks, and CPM. Yet I made 30% less the second day even though I actually had more clicks. Just seems so bizarre when all the numbers from impressions to ctr can be nearly identical, yet the payout is 30% different. Guess I haven't quite mastered this whole adsense system yet.
It sounds like the actual values of the ads were significantly different. You probably recieved more clicks through lower value ads.
Adsense payouts fluctuate wildly. I find that when I get more clicks, my cpc goes down too. Since they don't show us how much each one cost, I can only speculate that its either different advertisers or Google taking a bigger cut. This is something that is very consistant with my sites.
I totally agree, these numbers are made up but i get this alot. I can get 52 clicks and make $9 and other days i can get 42 and make $14. Like many people have said above, it all depends on the value of the ads, or how gready Google feel on that day Regards Impulse
same thing happen here. no one here knows the reason? and i try to target some said to be high pay keywords. the payout suck badly.
Yes, but it also depends on how much competition there is when the AS code displays ads on your site. AW Advertisers are constantly adjusting their daily budgets, max. CPC, etc. AmCy
I observed that on weekends, the rates are very low... same number of clicks on friday and saturday pays me with a big difference... I think advertisers must be keeping the budgets low for weekends...
