Does anyone offer SEO services on pay per performance basis

Anyone know of any good SEO firms or contractors that will do SEO work with their pay based on performance? I have some sites that are competing in some small niches (about 1k searches per month) and I would like to find someone that is willing to do the SEO and I will pay a certain amount once it reaches the top 10 and then more money once it reaches the top 3. Anyone know of anyone doing this?

I really appreciate the approach of getting work done, But i would say that you should pay the basic amount of the work of they do. Rest people will not prefer to work for free of cost/spending money from their own pocket to get you in top 10.

Most people will not do this. Some people lease sites to others that already rank, therefore the "performance" is already built in... Since the SE's are not totally predictable, no one can survive with 100% guarantees.

SEO is not an exact science. So I would not take that risk

I agreed... You need to modify your offer little bit.

Well I dont have a offer to modify. I just ask if anyone knew of someone offering this server. And yes I do realize a lot of guys will not want to do this but some will. You say you would not take that risk but it is also risk on the buyers side when they pay someone up front that really dont know what they are doing.

I've seen a few agencies in the UK offering this, but IMHO it's usually flawed. There are just too many factors that will impact your position in the SERPs and the traffic you get from your search terms. Natural search can be impacted by branding, marketing, PR, advertising, on-site stuff.

The only time I've ever seen it worked was when an agency was hired on a retainer and given a base-line to exceed every few months - for all of the traffic they got over that base-line they were paid a bonus. And even then they had get-out clauses based on changes made on-site - so if the client messed up the site or didn't implement their on-page work fast enough they could still get paid some of the bonus.

Also a pay for performance model can encourage the less-ethical SEO agencies to use practices that will damage your natural search performance in the long-term, but give them short term gain. So it's risky unless you're completely on top of everything that they're doing for you.

I don't think anybody will take the risk of doing this one. SEO is unpredictable. You could go for hourly rate or a monthly rate so you can save some money.

Just do a search on Google and you will find lots of SEO companies that work on a pay for performance basis. It is the safest way to protect both parties as long as an escrow service is used that way both parties have to life up to the agreed terms.
