Reading this section is pretty depressing. I just setup a bookstore using aStore on my wedding guide site. Has anyone had success with focusin on books?
1000 uniques a month in my store is about $60 revenue on average, this month is lower than my average so far. 10000 uniques a month would be nice, still wouldn't replace my day time job. I sell all kinds of stuff, not just books.
I'm struggling to get more traffic, but there are only 10-20 uniqs per day. And I have on average 1 book sold by amazon per month...
Well in my first month of being open (textbook season) I made over 350 dollars on book sales (through amazon, CJ, textbooks.com). The numbers went down a little the next month because the average textbook is far more expensive than the average novel, but I am still happy with the results. I am very optimistic about August/Sept (new semester) and hopefully by then I will have my site where I want it. Really if you can focus on some good keywords (like right now Harry Potter) and other popular books that cost more than 13 dollars you will see some good results.
affordabook is a great site. nice work. how hard is it to integrate the API's for all of those stores? you could make a mint by hiring kids to hand out flyers on college campuses.
December 06 I recorded 778 clicks and 64 items ordered = 8.23%. About 3k impressions of amazon store pages.
It hasn't added up to much money yet, but I try to review a couple of books and put the reviews in my newsletter with my amazon affiliate link. Dee Your Ebook: From Cyberspace to the Bookstore Shelves http://www.brianhillanddeepower.com/ebook.html
