    HI everyone,
Does any know if you need to have funds in your paypal b4 you can send payment to another? I know this sounds stupid....But you see, i have a credit card tied to my paypal account. I am wondering if i send money directly to another, paypal should deduct from my credit card right?

Reason i am asking this is becos i am NOT from the US and paypal seems to only allow pp in the US to add funds for free. ANy one knows?

    thanks
    TP

No you don't have to have any money in the account. I've made payments through PayPal using both a checking account and a credit card. As long as you have a backup funding source set up PayPal will automatically draw from the account or credit card.

PayPal will deny it if something prevents them from contacting your funding source. There was one time I was denied. I'd been using PayPal for quite a while and I had money in my bank account. I called them to ask why. They told me that they couldn't contact my bank and suggested I try later. When I tried it again it worked. I'm guessing it was just an error. I'm not sure whether it was PayPal or my bank.

By the way, PayPal doesn't actually verify whether the money is actually in the account it's drawing against. It's just like writing a check. The bank will pay it, but they will charge you big fees to do it.

One more thing. I use the PayPal Master Card. They pay me 1% cash back. If I pay my phone bill with it I get $0.40. Don't know how they do it, but they do. I suggested that a friend of mine pay his house payment through them, but I think his bank charges a fee to pay by credit card.

    Hope this helps.

EDIT - Just noticed your International status. I'm not sure about anything other than what my own personal experience is. I live in the US. Things may be different in other countries.

Like the most of international members of Paypal, as long as you have a valid verified credit card attached to your account, it will charge your credit card whenever you make the purchases. Of course, the paypal balance would be the first funding source.

Only about 40 support countries out of the 190 support countries allows sellers and they can only have paypal balances. The other 150 odd countries and the other members from the 40 countries which are not sellers can only spend and they can only do that through their attached credit cards.

You can't pay someone if you don't have sufficient funds in your paypal account. I am from Asia and I and buy and sell stuff for free as long as I am using a personal account and do not exceed $500 a month.

You can if you have a linked credit card to the account. I usually pay people with zero dollar in my paypal account and paypal just deduct directly from my credit card.

Not to worry, if you have CC attached to your paypal, Feel free to pay, paypal will forward the funds from your credit card.
